Front-end and back-end - In their most general meanings, the terms front end and back end refer to the initial and the end stages of a process flow. These terms acquire more special meanings in particular areas.
Sticky end/blunt end - In biology, sticky end (cohesive end) and blunt end are the two possible configurations resulting from the breaking of double-stranded DNA. DNA exhibits a stabilizing interaction between complementary base pairs, providing specificity to the pairing of two strands of DNA.
End-to-end principle - The end-to-end principle is one of the central design principles of the Internet Protocol (IP) that is the basis of the Internet. It states that, whenever possible, communications protocol operations should be defined to occur at the end-points of a communications system.
End-to-end - In any computer communication, there are n >= 2 end points, called "end systems" or "hosts".
