High-definition video - High-definition video or HD video generally refers to any video system of higher resolution than standard-definition (SD), which includes NTSC and PAL. Original HD specifications date back to the early 1980s, when Japan experimented with a 1025-line TV standard.
China Video Disc - The China Video Disc (CVD), developed in the late 1990s, is a Chinese government-sponsored competitor to the SVCD standard. CVDs use variable bitrate MPEG2 video encoded at 352x480 (NTSC) or 352x576 (PAL) rather than 480x480 (NTSC) or 480x576 (PAL) as with SVCDs.
Power Base Converter - The Power Base Converter was an accessory made by Sega for their Genesis and Mega Drive console video game systems. The adapter plugged into the respective console's cartridge slot and allowed it to play Sega Master System games by utilizing the system's Z80 processor.
Component video - Component video is a type of analog video information that is transmitted or stored as two or more separate signals (as opposed to composite video, such as NTSC or PAL, in which all the video information is combined in a single signal).
